The NOLA Studio Grand Reference Gold 3 is a floor standing loudspeaker of compact proportions that employs the exotic components of our Gold 3 collection. This includes the new Super Alnico midrange driver. It is now driven by a massive Alnico ring magnet for outstanding "life-like attack" and improved transient response. This driver also incorporates the 24K gold plated solid copper phase plug for reduced coloration. The system also utilizes the "state of the art" Nola true ribbon tweeter for extension to 100 kHz.

This three-way, three-driver system provides edge of the art performance in smaller rooms. Utilizing the same one square foot of floor space as the Metro Grand Reference Gold, its performance is also very user friendly. The system is supplied with a gloss black finished base and four heavy-duty spikes. An optional ball bearing isolation platform is also available.

The advent of cutting-edge components and techniques has allowed for an even greater approach to the sound of "live music." While many of these techniques remain proprietary, we can share some of the new features that have been incorporated into Series 3.

The 160mm magnesium cone bass driver with massive Alnico magnet system has been further updated. Electrical and magnetic distortion has been further reduced from the already low distortion of the original Gold model. In addition, electrical "drag" has been greatly reduced, allowing the new woofer to respond to the lowest levels yet. The improvement in bass low-level resolution and dynamics improves "life-like" fidelity over the whole range. Transients literally "explode" from a quiet black background as they do in live music. The true ribbon tweeter has been further upgraded with components built in-house. The three hand-wired crossover boards have been upgraded with even more exotic components for greater sonic transparency.
